Subtle Theme & Simple Colour Palette | A Tented Texas Wedding Rendering
01. DESIGN BRIEF
In this project, I created a collection of wedding design visuals for Wendy Kay of Birds of a Feather, including the concept for the ceremony, tented dinner and pavilion reception.
The design brief included a simple colour palette of green and white with subtle elements of a theme that took inspiration from artwork in the ceremony space at Omni Barton Creek in Austin, Texas.
Wendy invested in renderings for this premium wedding to offer her clients “a more high-touch experience and as a great way to sell higher and more creative designs” as well as being a great way for her creative team to “make sure everything would come together the way they intended”.
The ceremony design featured a crisp white aisle flanked with green and white floral arrangements leading up to a stage where the same arrangement continued up and over an arbour. Behind the stage, surrounded by the floral arrangement is the 3D plaster artwork that inspired a subtle theme that ran throughout the day.
A seated dinner reception was set within a large tent with symmetrical table layouts of mixed estate tables and round tables draped in velvet green linen. A grand escort table stood to the side of the entrance in the same green velvet and featured three large floral arrangments in urns that sat next to crisp white escort cards. A large floral arrangement that reflected the ceremony arbour sat at the entrance to the tent, welcoming guests into the space.
Finally, I created a to-scale replica of the pavilion at the Omni Barton Creek venue, where I added the decor details which included the large stage with the couple’s crest centred in the middle, a custom bar with nods to the couple’s love of Harry Potter as well as custom fluted furniture including a huge green bar to anchor the large space.
All of these elements were brought to life from inspiration images to custom, comprehensive design visuals that clearly communicated the vision Wendy had in her mind’s eye.
This design was a joy to work on and you can see how the design went from concept to reality below.
