Dinner Under The Stars at NoMA | Wedding Rendering

01. DESIGN BRIEF

I created this collection of wedding renderings for Michelle Norwood to capture the vision she had for Sarah and George’s wedding day at the New Orleans Museum of Art (NOMA).

The design board was inspired by a glamourous and bold palette of black, white, emerald, matt gold and ivory notes and the wedding day events were to be set across four different locations across NOMA’s outdoor venue.

The ceremony design included rows of havelock chairs leading to an arc of ivory flowers and greenery under an old oak tree. Cocktail hour was to be held in the Amphitheatre, utilising the various levels of the garden with lounges and seating set under umbrellas and modern bars for the guests’ refreshments.  Next was the seated dinner which was held under a black metal open-air structure draped in greenery so the guests could dine under the stars. The feeling we wanted to evoke was grand yet intimate. Finally, was the dessert party which was set in Pine Grove under the trees and in between the statues of NoMA. This area was comprised of lounges with emerald sofas, modern concrete bars, and high-boy seating set around a stage edged with flowers and greenery.

Once I had received the design brief I set to work modelling the outdoor venue spaces in 3D before creating and adding in all the furniture and details. All of the elements were created to scale and positioned perfectly as per the design layout. To finish off the designs, I hand-rendered all the flowers and greenery arrangements and added my own artistic style to the outputs. Michelle’s reason for needing custom renderings was:

“It’s a glamourous project and I want to ensure my clients understand the design concept”

I loved creating these designs and bringing all of the elements to life to create a cohesive set of images to communicate Michelle’s vision. She confirmed that:

“the renderings were a snapshot of what the wedding day would look like and I was excited to see the vision I had dancing in my head come to life”
Michelle was able to work through all of the hesitations the client had with the design and move forward to executing an exquisite wedding day for her clients. It came together beautifully as you can see from the images below.

Check out these designs that went from rendering to reality as well.
