A Traditional Wedding in a Historic Venue | 3D Wedding Rendering
01. The Design Brief
For this wedding concept, I worked with Gretchen from Rocket Science Events to create a curated set of design renders to present to her clients.
Inspiration for this design came from the couple’s Indian heritage, a bright colour palette and key architecture features taken from keyhole arches and traditional patterns. This balanced so nicely with the bright, industrial space at the Machine Shop venue in Minneapolis.
02. The 3D Rendered Design
I created a full 3D replica of the Machine Shop venue space including its high ceilings, tall windows, mezzanine floor and key industrial features. I then added in all of the design details and furniture to start to bring the design to life within the venue.
The initial design brief called for a custom laser-cut keyhole arch to be added at the entrance and I also worked up a design for a detailed archway for the ceremony backdrop.
Gretchen requested additional outputs of the design to showcase design options for more laser-cut archways separating the main venue space and the area under the mezzanine floor to add more impact to the overall look as well as a to-scale image of the ceremony backdrop with precise measurements which she could use to communicate with her vendor.
03. The Wedding
After presenting the custom design visuals to her clients they were then able to visualise what the concept would look like all put together and so were able to make some final design amendments which included a change of table linen to a neutral colour and they moved away from the key-hole ceremony backdrop design and went with a plethora of draped fabrics as their backdrop instead.
