DESIGN BRIEF

I’m back again with another reception rendering for Kelsey Timberlake, this one is set in the Great Hall at the Sun River Resort in Oregon. This celebration was one of the most unique and eclectic I’ve designed and I was thrilled to help curate the design for this one-of-a-kind day.This “funky lodge” reception design was developed from the initial design brief where we focused on quintessential cabin decorations, like blue-and-white china, lace tablecloths, and silver accoutrements. And in the final design, we included dark teal linens that complimented the wood panelling inside the resort’s great hall and draped the cake table with some lace overlay.The final rendered designs got much spicier and funkier from here (in the best way!). First, the tables were surrounded with bouquets of pink, green, and purple flowers — light shades, dark shades, and every shade in between — before warming it all up with some votives placed here and there around the room. It was an unexpected floral colour combination, but one that made the whole reception feel just as playful as the couple it was celebrating.

And for that extra touch of fun, a custom dance floor wrap incorporating an original design, with a touch of that blue-and-white pottery pattern and a nod to the couple’s initials.The couple were seated at an asymmetrical sweetheart table set centred in front of the grand fireplace. It was a cabin oasis, unlike anything I’d ever seen!This reception design was so much fun to create, and even better to see played out in real life. I’m sure I won’t be making anything like this again soon, though I wish I could!
