A New Venue Greenspace Comes To Life

01. The Design Brief

How do you communicate what your clients’ weddings will look like and feel like in a venue that isn’t even built yet?

That was the design challenge set for me by The Island, by Hotel RL in Florida who wanted to create a green space overlooking the ocean to add to their venue repertoire and they wanted to market it to potential clients before the turf was even laid.

The goal was to create a set of 3D rendered designs that communicated the vision for future ceremonies and receptions in this Florida Gulf Coast beach destination.

Here’s how it all came together.

02. The 3D Rendered Design

I created a full replica of the hotel exterior, surrounding buildings, the beach, boardwalks, beach pavilion, landscaping and created an ocean scene before building a 3D model of the raised green space and adding in the ceremony area, ramp access, stairs, landscaping and those lush palm trees as a backdrop.

Next, I created various ceremony and reception layouts to showcase the possibilities at the venue.
